Embrace Adventure! 06/18/2010
Here is a snippet from my summer newsletter (Yes I realize I sent it out with a few errors but "good is good enough" and I am off to play)! "Last night I spent the evening talking about adventure! A fabulous group of women shared past adventures and how they felt after - alive, renewed, relaxed, inspired, and joyful. From backpacking in New Zealand to meeting a spouse on a dating website, it was wonderful to experience the energy when they shared there stories. And then we talked about now...how busy summer can feel - weekends booked through August, activities, travel, etc. It can all leave one feeling a titch exhausted and overwhelmed. We talked about how we can slow down and be intentional about the summer. Creating a balance between being and doing. People started coming up with ideas for what they really wanted their summer to look like including little and big adventures. Again I saw the energy level rise as the women got creative about how to bring adventure back into their lives. I encourage you to to reflect on what you really want your summer to look like. What adventures do you want to have? Here a few ideas:
Research is pretty clear - when have new experiences we create new pathways in our brains. So try something different. You will feel amazing!" If you are looking for a retreat - I have a few spots left in the June 27th one! Add Comment Plan a little summer fun for you! 06/08/2010
![]() I just returned from a three week adventure with my family in the Pacific Northwest. One of the greatest lesson I walk away with when I travel with little ones is about the power of letting go and embracing an attitude of adventure. A relaxing of my expectations and my needs for a schedule served me amazingly well on this trip. If you want to explore how to do this a little more I encourage you to attend one of my (and the amazing Julie Kesti's) summer retreats. We will focus on creating an attitude of playful fearlessness, embracing adventure, and challenging you to rethink you "busyies" (totally made up word I have no idea how to spell). And as usual there will be wonderful massage and yummy food. Contact me to sign up.
